Number one bestseller (Humanities & Science)

No matter what the pro-China/pro-Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT) media want you to believe, Taiwan's former president Chen Shui-bian (陳水扁) is still not "unpopular."

Although the MOE recently decided to adopt a romanization that uses tsh and ts, the vast majority of material including textbooks, dictionaries, novels, and works of literature, as well as the Taiwanese Bible, and hymn books are all in the original and oldest POJ system out of Tainan; it is very functional and I personally think that the MOE should not have changed it... since the difference are minimal.

Among the differences -- chh and ch instead of tsh and ts,

Also, POJ uses "oe" instead of "ue". This is actually better because of regional dialects of Taiwanese have many variations in vowels between "o", "oe", and "e". Using "oe" instead of "ue" works better.

For instance -- to do... chò ̣(North, central) and chòe (south)

much : chōe (south) and chē (north)

Also, the MOE -- ik and ing but in POJ: ek and eng.

There is one regional accent that I hear more of an "i" sound, but the vast majority have more of a "e" vowel sound in the ek and eng, so I think again POJ is better.
